Born in San Francisco in 1912.
Studied at the San Francisco School of Design and at the Otis Art
Institute in Los Angeles, and with Warren E. Rollins in Santa Fe,
New Mexico. Designed murals for the U.S. Maritime Commission, Pasadena
Playhouse and other theaters and deluxe cargo and passenger vessels.
Exhibitions of his paintings included the Whitney Museum of Modern
Art in New York City, Chicago Museum of Art, DeYoung Museum of San
Francisco, Los Angeles Art Museum, Santa Barbara Art Museum, and
the San Diego Art Museum. He was an art instructor at the Los Angeles
City College, and also produced several art motion pictures including
"In The Beginning" A Cannes Film Festival winner. In the
past 30 years of his life he devoted his time to painting landscapes
and nautical scenes. His works are included in the collections of
American Honda Co., Baylor College of Medicine, Deloitte,Touche
& Sells, Glendale Federal Savings, Healthnet, Methodist Hospital,
Prudential Bache, Tishman Construction Co, Transamerica Insurance
Corp., Union Texas Petroleum, and others.
