Wes Campbell. Born in Ohio in 1928. After an honorable discharge from the service he became a newspaper artist for the Columbus dispatch. He later moved to Los Angeles where he studied at the Jesper Art Institute. Remembering his early days of celebrating the fourth of July on riverboat excursions on the Ohio river, the artist specialized in painting the old west with the riverboat as the main subject.
