Born in Auburn, New York in
1916. Attended Syracuse University on a art scholarship and earned
a BFA degree. This was followed by graduate study at UCLA and USC
in Los Angeles. He taught art in Troy, New York and after serving
five years in the Air Force during WW II he moved to Los Angeles
where for the next 28 years continued teaching art and design. His
watercolors are painted on gessoed panel and he maintains that his
representational art in no way limits his creativity. His paintings
are realistic but are constructed on an abstract base. His works
have been exhibited at the New York State Exhibition, Air Force
Reserve Art Exhibit, Pentagon, Otis Art Institute, American Film
Institute, National North Light Cover Competition and numerous local
art associations and television stations.His landscapes and marine
still lifes have won many awards including the American Artist Magazine
National Art Competition Inveresk Award.
