Born
in 1941 in Portsmouth, Virginia. After completing correspondence
school art courses while in high school, he continued his studies
when a scholarship allowed him to attend the College of William
and Mary. He went on to further his studies at the Art Institute
of Pittsburgh, and later earned his Masters of Fine Arts degree
from Syracuse University in 1985. As a commercial artist for advertising
agencies and later as art director for a major advertising firm,
his professional acheivments included an astonishing 37 prestigious
Addy awards.He has held teaching posts as Professor of Art at St
Leo's University, and Regent University in Virginia. His work has
appeared as cover art for albums, posters, and book publications,
one of which received a national design award. His paintings of
young women and children are broad and direct, yet romanticism of
a bygone era dominates his work.
