Born in 1902, Self taught. The artist left home at the age of 16 and for the next 15years traveled throughout Europe, South America and the United States, mastering seven languages.He settled in northern California, married, and devoted his life to painting, teaching and lecturing on painting and composition. Though most of his paintings included female figures, the artist explained that the subject matter came from his subconscious without any planning or any will of his own.He stated, "I follow the nebulous theory of creation. Order comes out of chaos."
