Born in Schenectady, New York
in 1907. Studied at Chouinard School of Art on a 3 year scholarship,
and at the Art Center for two years, both in Los Angeles. He was
the art editor for Pan magazine in Pasadena, a technical illustrator
for Douglas Aircraft, A matte-shot and scenic artist for MGM, Universal,
and 20th Century Fox studios. He was an art instructor at the Los
Angeles Board of Education, The L.A. Recreation and Parks Department,
the Hollywood Art Center School, and the Business Men's Art Association,
for 25 years. His work was exhibited at the Los Angeles County Museum,Pennsylvania
Academy of Fine Arts, San Diego Museum, Santa Barbara Museum, Dayton
Art Institute, Kirkeby Center Gallery, and at Gump's of San Francisco,
The Ebell Club, Los Angeles, The Canteur Gallery, New York, Downey
Art Museum, California, plus others. He belonged to many associations
including The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles, California
Watercolor Society, Artists Equity, Laguna Beach Art Association,
and the Council of Allied Artists. One man exhibitions included
Art Center School, Pasadena Museum of Art, and the Laguna Beach
Art Association.He won many awards at the State Fairs, art festivals
and art associations. During the span of his forty year career he
developed a reputation for excellence in all media: watercolor,
pastel, and oil.He was especially noted for his landscapes of California.
